Vol. 459 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Amnesty Figures.

Ivor Callely

Question:

74 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Finance the total value of moneys returned in the last tax amnesty; his views on tax amnesties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17961/95]

The total value of moneys returned in the last tax amnesty is estimated at £261 million, made up of £200 million under the 15 per cent incentive amnesty and a further £61 million under the general amnesty.

The Deputy should note that in the programme, A Government of Renewal, the Government states that one of its priorities in the area of tax reform is to ensure there will be no more tax amnesties.
