Vol. 460 No. 3

Written Answers. - New Clinic Proposals.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

166 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Health the proposals, if any, he has to provide a new outpatients clinic and general practitioner unit at the district hospital in Donegal town. [19497/96]

Limerick East): As part of its programme for the development of primary care facilities in the years 1996-98, the North-Western Health Board has a proposal to develop a number of facilities on the site of the Community Hospital, Donegal Town, which would include general practitioner services and hospital consultant clinics. I understand that details of the proposed development remain to be finalised by the board. My Department is in regular contact with individual health boards regarding the improvement of the primary care infrastructure. When the North-Western Health Board has completed its plans for this project, it will be considered in the light of available resources and the priority attached to it by the board.
