Vol. 460 No. 3

Written Answers. - Capital Provision for Hospitals.

Séamus Hughes

Question:

176 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Health the amount of capital provision in the 1996 Estimates for phase two of Mayo General Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1145/96]

Limerick East): Discussions regarding the accommodation requirements for the phase two of Mayo General Hospital project are nearing completion and I expect the design brief to be submitted for my approval shortly. It is not possible, in the absence of receipt of the design brief, to indicate the level of capital funding required in 1996 to progress the project. The Deputy can, however, be assured that the funds necessary to maintain progress on the planning and implementation of the project will be made available.
