261 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment when he intends to make regulations to control noise levels at places of entertainment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1019/96]

277 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to review the situation regarding noise regulations for places of entertainment. [1150/96]

296 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for the Environment if he intends to amend regulations to control noise levels in places of entertainment. [1285/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 261, 277 and 296 together.

As I indicated in my reply to Question No. 3 of 9 November 1995, draft regulations under section 106 of the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992, are being prepared by my Department with a view to finalisation in 1996. Controls on sources of noise, including noise from places of entertainment, are being considered in that context.
