Vol. 460 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Michael Ring

Question:

311 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education if she will amend the current school bus arrangements in respect of Lacken Cross school (details supplied) in County Mayo. [19135/95]

I am satisfied that the school transport arrangements currently in operation for Lacken Cross school are within the general guidelines of the school transport scheme. Fully eligible pupils enjoy a reasonable and adequate level of service to this centre.

There are some pupils offering for transport on this service who are entitled to catchment boundary transport only. They may avail of such transport, subject to there being spare accommodation available, and provided that no additional State cost is incurred. Accordingly, I do not propose to alter the present arrangements.
