Vol. 460 No. 3

Written Answers. - Moville (Donegal) Schools.

James McDaid

Question:

335 Dr. McDaid asked the Minister for Education if she will consider extending the girls' school in Moville, County Donegal, to facilitate the establishment of a co-educational primary school in the near future; and her views on the current situation in the boys' primary school in Moville. [19376/96]

I understand significant capital expenditure is required to bring the condition of the boys' national school in Moville to a reasonable standard. In this context, and with a view to improving educational provision in the area, I would be disposed to consider proposals for an amalgamation of the two schools on the girls' school site. My Department has asked for this matter to be considered locally and the views of the interested parties obtained.
