Vol. 460 No. 3

Written Answers. - Protection of Tenants.

Tony Gregory

Question:

395 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, further to her reply to Parliamentary Question 257 on 20 September 1995, if the Garda will investigate complaints from residents that the situation has deteriorated in spite of assurances given in her reply; and if the Garda will report on the action they will take to provide proper protection to the tenants in this flats complex. [19484/96]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the area continues to receive appropriate attention and that the level of criminal activity there is very low. In this regard, the introduction of Neighbourhood Watch is considered to be a major factor in the stable and peaceful atmosphere which now prevails in the complex.
