Vol. 460 No. 3

Written Answers. - CIE Pension Scheme.

Noel Dempsey

Question:

574 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the current position on the proposed amendment to the wages grade pension scheme for CIE workers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19249/95]

On 29 November 1995 I confirmed by order amendments to the wages grade pension scheme. It subsequently emerged that there were legal and technical difficulties with the order.

Therefore, a new scheme revoking and replacing the scheme was submitted to me by CIE. CIE is in the process of advertising the scheme, as required by statute, and 28 days will be allowed for objections to be lodged.

If no objections are lodged I can confirm by order the proposed scheme.
