Question:626 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for the Marine when funding will be approved for Doonbeg pier, County Clare under the PESCA EU initiative. [1282/96]
Written Answers. - Doonbeg (Clare) Pier.
The proposal by Doonbeg Community Development Company Ltd. to develop the pier is among the applications currently being evaluated by an Bord Iascaigh Mhara, under the PESCA operational programme. Applications are prioritised by BIM in accordance with weighted selection criteria agreed with the Department.
I expect that this procedure will be completed in the next month or so, at which stage the projects recommended by BIM for the next round of PESCA funding will be submitted to me for approval.
