Transposition of this directive is partially under the auspices of the Department of Health. The Health Insurance Act, 1994 came into force on 1 July 1994 to allow for competition in the health insurance market in this country. The regulatory framework pursuant to this Act, which has been the subject of discussion between the Department and the Commission, is being finalised at present. |
