143 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has circulated draft planning guidelines to all interested parties in relation to communications masts; whether guidelines have been issued; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1746/96]
Draft guidelines on telecommunications antennae and support structures were issued to a wide range of interested parties on 21 December 1995. In addition, over 100 copies of the guidelines have been issued in response to the advertisements placed in the national press on 8 January indicating that a copy of the draft guidelines could be obtained from the Department and inviting comments on the draft by 29 February 1996. The guidelines, in final form, will be issued as soon as possible after the comments received have been considered.
