Vol. 460 No. 6

Written Answers. - Wexford Flooding.

Hugh Byrne

Question:

148 Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the level of damage caused by the recent flooding in the King Street area of Wexford town; if he will ensure that when work on the main drainage scheme commences remedial works will be carried out in this area to prevent a recurrence of flooding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1770/96]

The Wexford main drainage scheme is designed to provide increased accommodation for storm water flows and, consequently, to alleviate the risk of flooding from this source at King Street and other areas of the town.
