Vol. 461 No. 1

Written Answers - Free Transport Facilities.

Micheál Martin

Question:

150 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education if she will grant free transport facilities to a person (details supplied) in County Cork in view of the circumstances involved. [2526/96]

It would not be open to my Department to grant free transport facilities to the child to whom the Deputy refers. The child concerned is not attending the nearest national school, and is therefore ineligible for free transport under the terms of the school transport scheme. However, the child is currently availing of concessionary fare-paying transport to the school she attends.
