Question:164 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the progress, if any, that has been made on the transfer of republican prisoners in British jails to prisons in the Republic of Ireland. [2270/96]
Written Answers - Transfer of Republican Prisoners.
The UK authorities have transmitted to me formal applications in respect of five republican prisoners serving sentences in England. All five applications, which include comprehensive supporting documentation, are currently being processed and I expect to be in a position to respond to the UK authorities next week.
