Question:

115 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for the Environment the number of arts officers employed by local authorities; the names of the local authorities that have an arts officer; and whether these art officers are in full time, temporary, contract or part-time employment with each local authority. [2480/96]

The local authorities which have appointed arts officers are set out in the following table. These appointments are generally on a full-time contract basis.

The services of the arts officer employed by Dundalk Urban District Council are available to Louth County Council. Vacancies are currently being filled by Wicklow, Offaly and Cork County Councils.
