Vol. 461 No. 2

Written Answers. - Former Garda Station, Monaghan.

James Leonard

Question:

44 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in developing the old Garda Headquarters in Monaghan town in view of the need for accommodation for State agencies in that region. [1121/96]

The former Garda station in Monaghan is to be refurbished as offices for Government Departments located in the town. The required accommodation briefs have now been received from the Departments concerned. A design team has been appointed to prepare a scheme in accordance with these briefs. It is expected that these refurbishment works will commence later this year.
