Vol. 461 No. 4

Adoption Bill, 1996: First Stage.

I move: "That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to make provision of the validity in law and the entry in the Register of Foreign Adoptions of adoptions of children made in the People's Republic of China and for that purpose to amend and extend the Adoption Acts, 1952 to 1991."

Is this being opposed?

Question put and agreed to.

As this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.

I move: "That the Bill be taken in Private Members' time."

Question put and agreed to.
