Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Seán Kenny — the recent outbreak of joyriding and the burning of stolen cars in the Kilbarrack area of Dublin; (2) Deputy McDaid — the situation existing in St. Joseph's National School, Moville, County Donegal; (3) Deputy Broughan — the need to regulate the proliferating microwave telephone networks in the Dublin region in view of the serious health, environmental and cost concerns; (4) Deputy Shortall — the need to require primary and second level schools to notify the Department of Education of cases where children are expelled or refused entry; (5) Deputy Michael McDowell — the imprisonment of Mr. Wei Jing Sheng and abuses of civil rights in China; (6) Deputy Ellis — the commitment given in reply to Parliamentary Question No. 206 of 30 January 1996; (7) Deputy O'Rourke — the need for consumers, especially those purchasing magazines and books, to benefit from the exchange rate with sterling; (8) Deputy Seán Ryan — the number of abscondments from Oberstown House, Lusk, County Dublin in the past year and the proposals, if any, for improving security for the centre in view of the concerns of the local residents.

The matters raised by Deputies Michael McDowell, Broughan, McDaid and O'Rourke have been selected for discussion.
