11 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to extend the ban on the sale, marketing and distribution of bituminous coal to other urban areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3324/96]

I intend to review the possible extension of the coal ban to urban areas other than Dublin and Cork in the light of the air quality monitoring results of the 1995-1996 heating season.
