Vol. 461 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

104 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Education whether school transport can be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 13, in view of his parents wish for him to have non-denominational education. [3434/96]

The pupil to whom the Deputy refers is not eligible for transport under the terms of the post-primary school transport scheme, as he is not attending his nearest post-primary centre.

In the circumstances, it would not be open to my Department to provide transport as requested.
