Vol. 461 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Liaison Officer.

Chris Flood

Question:

114 Mr. Flood asked the Minister for Education if she will agree to immediately appoint a home school liaison officer to a school (details supplied) in Dublin 22 as has been requested by the parents' council; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3487/96]

The home school community liaison scheme has been expanded in the current school year by the inclusion of an additional 37 schools at second level. This brings the total number of schools at second level to 87 with the services of 86 local co-ordinators.

The needs of the school referred to by the Deputy will be considered in the context of any further expansion of the home school community liaison scheme.
