Vol. 461 No. 7

Written Answers. - Uninsured Motor Vehicles.

Ivor Callely

Question:

177 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Environment what additional measures, if any, are being considered to prevent uninsured motor vehicles being driven on public roads; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3701/96]

The provisions of the Road Traffic Acts and regulations made under these Acts are adequate to deal with the problem of uninsured driving. Enforcement of the legislation is a matter for the Garda Síochána.
