Vol. 461 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Limerick School.

Michael Finucane

Question:

198 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education when she will appoint the two concessionary teachers to a school (details supplied) in County Limerick in view of the fact that it is a disadvantaged school. [3660/96]

I have no plans at present to appoint additional concessionary teachers to the school mentioned by the Deputy.

My Department is currently reviewing its overall approach to the identification and support of disadvantaged pupils in the light of the report on educational disadvantage prepared by the Combat Poverty Agency.

The needs of the school in question will be considered in the context of any future development of the disadvantaged areas scheme which may be undertaken.
