Question:

252 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Justice the total number of personnel working in her office and in the office of the Minister(s) of State at her Department; the number of support staff and back-up personnel in each office; their titles and responsibilities; their salaries and other associated costs; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3858/96]

The information sought by the Deputy regarding the number, title, salary and associated costs of the staff employed in the Private and Constituency Offices of the Minister for Justice and the Office of the Minister of State for the period 1 January 1995 to 31 December 1995 is set out in the following tabular statement. The functions of the general and private offices are to provide assistance to the Minister and Minister of State in the day to day discharge of their official duties and in their role as public representatives.
