259 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will give details of all appointees to boards or authorities by him in 1995 to all agencies under the aegis of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3680/96]
There are three statutory agencies under the aegis of my Department, namely, the Combat Poverty Agency, the Pensions Board and the National Social Service Board. The position in relation to appointments made by me in 1995 to those agencies is as follows:
Combat Poverty Agency
Two appointments were made by me to this agency in 1995. Ms Anna Lee became a member of the board and chairperson with effect from 21 June 1995 and Ms Deirdre Carroll was appointed as the Department's representative on the board on 31 January 1995. The term of office of eight board members ended on 6 December 1995 but they have not been replaced to date.
Pensions Board
The following persons were appointed on 21 December 1995, for a five year period, to replace the first board whose term of office ended on 20 December 1995:
