79 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education the current stage of preparation of the Youth Service Bill; the expected date of publication of this legislation; the interest groups, if any, that have been consulted; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3775/96]
I have promised to bring proposals for a Youth Service Bill to Government in 1996 and I expect that a Bill will be published during the latter part of the year. My Department has consulted with the main interest groups, including the youth organisations, the local voluntary youth councils, and the relevant vocational education committees.
