Vol. 462 No. 2

Written Answers. - Borough Boundary Extension.

Michael Bell

Question:

130 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Environment the progress, if any, that has been made in relation to borough boundary extension with particular reference to Drogheda and County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4511/96]

Some alterations were made to parts of the southern boundary of the borough of Drogheda, following local agreement, to encompass housing which immediately adjoined it, for the purposes of the town elections in 1994. The action to be taken on all matters affecting town local government, including structures, functions and boundaries will be determined in the context of the report of the commission on town local government which I expect to receive shortly.
