Vol. 462 No. 2

Written Answers. - Remedial Teachers.

Brendan Kenneally

Question:

168 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Education the primary schools in the country that have in excess of 350 pupils but do not have the service of a remedial teacher; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4466/96]

Based on enrolment numbers at the end of September 1995, St. Mary's national school, Bally-gunner, County Waterford, is the only national school in the county which has in excess of 350 pupils and does not currently have the services of a remedial teacher. When I am in a position to extend the remediation service, the needs of the school in question will be given every consideration.
