Vol. 462 No. 2

Written Answers. - Export Credit Insurance.

Tony Killeen

Question:

214 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the changes, if any, he has proposed in the terms of export credit insurance; and the discussions, if any, he has had with the Minister for Enterprise and Employment on the matter. [4410/96]

The export credit insurance scheme established under the Insurance Act, 1953 was the subject of an independent review in 1991 following which the operation of the scheme was radically restructured. The performance of the scheme is kept under ongoing review and I have no proposals or related discussions with Cabinet colleagues, including the Minister for Enterprise and Employment, at present for further changes in the terms which apply to the State export credit insurance scheme.
