228 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the proposals, if any, he has for visits abroad in 1996 to promote trade and tourism. [4359/96]

At the request of the tourism and trade promotion agencies, Bord Fáilte and Bord Tráchtála, I have agreed to participate in a proposed programme of events abroad which include: 28-29 February — Bord Tráchtála trade mission to Fiat, Turin, to promote sales of Irish autoparts, combined with Bord Fáilte participation in Milan Travel Fair; 10-14 March — Promotion of Irish consumer goods on the United States television shopping channels and attendance at Bord Fáilte sponsored Top 100 Irish American Awards ceremony; 22-30 April — Bord Tráchtála multi-sectoral trade mission to Korea and Taiwan; Bord Tráchtála/LEDU joint consumer products promotion, New Jersey, supported by the International Fund for Ireland; 4-6 June — Bord Tráchtála multi-sectoral trade mission to Finland; October — Bord Tráchtála multi-sectoral trade mission to Barcelona (dates to be determined); 11-14 November — World Travel Market — tourism promotion in London.

This programme may be subject to change as the year progresses.
