Vol. 462 No. 2

Written Answers. - Phoenix Park (Dublin) Drainage.

Tony Gregory

Question:

107 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will request the Office of Public Works to report on any drainage problems from the Phoenix Park, Dublin 20 which cause intermittent flooding and allied problems in the Chapelizod area; and the remedial work required. [4177/96]

While I am aware that there are some minor drainage problems in the Phoenix Park adjacent to Chapelizod, there is no evidence to suggest that these are the cause of intermittent flooding in the Chapelizod area, which I understand usually occurs during periods of heavy rain. However, I wish to confirm that the position is being monitored and also that there is an ongoing works programme of drainage maintenance and repair in the Phoenix Park.
