Vol. 462 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Studies.

Ivor Callely

Question:

143 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Marine the total number of studies undertaken by his Department or by an agency under the aegis of his Department; the number of matters that he or the Minister(s) of State at his Department have referred for study /report / review to an expert group; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4383/96]

It would not be practicable, having regard to the time available and the commitment of resources that would be involved, to compile information on all studies undertaken by my Department or by agencies under its aegis. Details of consultancy studies commissioned by my Department on which expenditure was incurred in 1995 were provided to the Deputy arising from Question No. 182 of 13 December 1995.

The following expert groups have been established by me or by the Minister of State at my Department:

1. The Salmon Management Task Force.

2. The Monitoring and Advisory Group on the Corrib System Development Plan.

3. The Sea Trout Monitoring and Advisory Group.

4. Review Group on Pilotage in the Waterford Estuary.

5. Fishing Vessel Safety Review Group.

6. Task Force on Biotoxin Contamination.

7. East Coast Search and Rescue Review.
