Vol. 462 No. 3

Written Answers. - Roscommon Hospital Staffing.

Seán Doherty

Question:

55 Mr. Doherty asked the Minister for Health if he will approve funding for a second consultant surgeon at the Roscommon County Hospital in 1996. [4599/96]

Limerick East): I understand that the Western Health Board is currently reviewing its requests in relation to additional consultant staff, including the possibility of recruiting a second consultant surgeon to Roscommon County Hospital. These proposals will have to be considered in the light of the board's overall priorities for staffing requirements and development of services in 1996, and in the context of resources which may be available for health developments next year, having regard to the many competing demands for these resources countrywide.
