Question:76 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Education when sanction will be given to O'Fiach College, Dundalk, County Louth, for work on roofs, windows and floors; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4607/96]

The application for repair works to roofs, windows and floors was examined in detail by officials in my Department.
The proposed remedial works necessary in respect of the floors and windows are considered to be maintenance in nature and, accordingly, capital funding towards these works cannot be recommended.
The proposed roof repair project at the school, however, is one of a number of projects being considered for inclusion in the 1996 capital programme.
