Question:136 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Defence the estimated cost of the Government Jet in 1996; the number of internal and external trips; and the cost per flying hour of the jet. [5072/96]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 134 and 136 together. As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose to circulate it in the Official Report.
The purpose of any particular flight is a matter for the requesting Minister. The direct cost (maintenance, fuel and support services) of the Gulfstream aircraft is £1,200 per hour.
