I can confirm that I have given approval for Aer Rianta International to make a bid in partnership with a leading London financial institution for a 40 per cent shareholding in Birmingham Airport.
Aer Rianta International has been selected as the preferred bidder and the due diligence process is currently under way. On completion of this process. Aer Rianta will make a further submission to my Department before any final decision or commitment is made.
