132 Mr. Nolan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the measures, if any, he will introduce under the Animal Remedies Act, 1993, to eradicate the illegal use of growth promoting substances; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6850/96]

The legislation to enforce the ban on the use of illegal growth promoters is being vigorously applied by my Department and the Garda Síochána.
