Question:

152 Mr. Collins asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in giving approval for the new sewerage scheme at Adare, County Limerick. [6877/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 150, 151 and 152 together.

An application for the river Maigue integrated catchment protection scheme, which includes the Adare, Kilmallock and Patrickswell sewerage schemes, has been submitted to the European Commission for Cohesion Fund assistance. Pending the Commission's decision, and having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance these schemes.
