Vol. 463 No. 6

Written Answers. - Palmerstown (Dublin) School.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

165 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education, in view of the deplorable situation regarding physical education facilities at Pobalscoil Iosolde (details supplied) in Palmerstown, Dublin 20, and the refusal of her Department to sanction a sports hall, if he will initiate a full review of this case; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7235/96]

The question of providing physical education facilities at Pobail Scoil Iosalda, Palmerstown, Dublin 20 can only be considered in the context of the capital available for post-primary building purposes generally.

Because of the huge demand for additional classroom accommodation in schools throughout the country, I am not in a position at this stage to say when physical education facilities will be provided in this particular case.

However, should financial circumstances permit, the school will be given every consideration.
