171 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education the steps, if any, she proposes to take to ensure that land used for playing pitches at Beechpark Avenue, Castleknock, Dublin 15, is retained for the use of St. Brigid's GAA Club and local schools. [6911/96]
In 1985 St. Brigid's GAA club was given permission to use the Department's site at Beechpark Avenue, Castleknock, Dublin 15 on a temporary basis pending construction of a new post-primary school. This was never intended to be a long-term arrangement and the position was reiterated to the GAA club in 1988 when they sought a ten year lease for the site which was refused.
At present the position relating to the future of the site is being considered by the Department.
