216 Mr. M. McDowell asked the Minister for Justice in relation to the drugs found at Urlingford, County Kilkenny in November 1995 the proportion of the 13 tonnes that were destroyed by burning at an ESB station; the proportion that were preserved and remain in this State; and the proportion that was sent out of this State; to whom it was sent; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 214, 215 and 216 together.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that, with the exception of a small amount retained for evidential purposes, all of the drugs in question have been destroyed. No drugs were sent out of the State or handed over to any foreign authority or drug enforcement agency.
