Vol. 463 No. 6

Written Answers. - Petitions to Minister.

Donal Moynihan

Question:

47 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, she has to deal with fines in view of the petitions made to her. [7045/96]

I refer the Deputy to a reply given by me on this matter on 21 February 1996 wherein I explained that petitions will be considered in the light of new guidelines and procedures which are at present being formulated to take account of the 1995 High Court judgment on petitions. That is the current position.
