Vol. 463 No. 7

Written Answers. - Dental Treatment Services.

Noel Davern

Question:

55 Mr. Davern asked the Minister for Health the reason that under Phase II of the dental treatment services scheme the provision of dentures has not been extended to applicants between the ages of 16 and 34 years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7290/96]

Limerick East): It is now my intention, under Phase II of the dental treatment services scheme, to extend priority full denture treatment to all edentulous persons aged 16 or over who have medical card entitlement.

Phase II of the scheme will be introduced by my Department as soon as the agreement of the staff associations to implement this additional phase of the scheme is forthcoming.
