Question:71 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Education if the extension promised for Ashbourne community school, County Meath, will commence not later than June 1996; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7297/96]

A revised schedule of residual accommodation has recently been accepted by the school authorities and the project is now ready to proceed to architectural planning.
The question of the appointment of a design team for the project is being considered by the building unit of my Department.
As this project is in the early stages of planning, it is not possible to say when construction will commence.
