Vol. 463 No. 8

Written Answers. - Dromahair (Leitrim) School.

Edward Nealon

Question:

124 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the major dissatisfaction of the board of management of St. Joseph's national school, Killenumnery, Dromahair, County Leitrim, shared by the teachers, pupils, parents and others in the school catchment area, as a result of which a public meeting is to be held shortly at the school; whether she intends to carry out the necessary remedial work as soon as possible; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7518/96]

My Department is aware of the situation at St. Joseph's national school.

The Office of Public Works office in Sligo has been working on plans for improvements to St. Joseph's national school, Killenumnery, Dromahair, County Leitrim. However, before the plans were finalised additional works were sought by the school. I understand from the Office of Public Works that the revised plans are almost completed and they will be sent to the school shortly. It is planned to carry out the necessary works during the summer.
