Vol. 463 No. 8

Written Answers. - Profile of Convicted Persons.

Seamus Kirk

Question:

127 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for Justice the profile of those convicted of criminal offences for each of the years from 1993 to 1995 by age group; their previous criminal record, if any; their employment status; their education/training attainments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7321/96]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that information in relation to the age of persons convicted of indictable offences is published in the Garda Commissioner's annual report on crime, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. Statistics are not compiled in such a way as to provide information in respect of previous convictions, employment status of educational/training attainments.
