Vol. 463 No. 8

Written Answers. - Cork Garda Deployment.

Joe Walsh

Question:

140 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Justice if she will have arrangements made to appoint a resident garda to a town (details supplied) in County Cork. [7628/96]

The detailed allocation of Garda personnel is the responsibility of the Garda authorities. I am informed by them that it is intended to fill the vacancy in the town concerned as soon as a suitable member is selected. They have informed me that the position will shortly be advertised on a national level in order to locate a suitable applicant who will be required to reside in the official accommodation.
