84 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the level of remuneration of the non-executive directors of boards, companies or agencies under the aegis of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6510/96]

The levels of remuneration of the non-executive directors of the boards of the two bodies which come under the aegis of my Department are as follows:

Chairperson of the Employment Equality Agency	£3,000 per annum
Chairperson of the Legal Aid Board	£4,000 per annum
Members of the Legal Aid Board	£2,500 per annum

Members of the Board of the Employment Equality Agency, other than the chairperson, are not remunerated for their services.
