Finance Bill, 1996. - Allocation of Time: Motion.

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders:

(1) The proceedings in the Select Committee on Finance and General Affairs on the Finance Bill, 1996, shall be brought to a conclusion in accordance with the following timetable:—

Chapter I of Part I (covering sections 1 to 12)

Chapters II and III of Part I (covering sections 13 to 36)

Chapter IV of Part I (covering sections 37 to 48)

Thursday, 25th April

Chapters V and VI of Part I (covering sections 49 to 59)

11.30 a.m.

Parts II and III (covering sections 60 to 89)

1.00 p.m.

Parts IV, V, VI and VII (covering sections 90 to 130), the Schedules and the Title

4.30 p.m.

and where proceedings have not concluded by the stated time, they shall be brought to a conclusion by one Question, which shall be put from the Chair, and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only those set down or accepted by the Minister for Finance or a Minister or Minister of State, as the case may be, nominated as substitute on his behalf.

(2) No Member may claim a division on the proceedings on the Finance Bill, 1996, except on a Question put as provided for in accordance with paragraph (1): provided, however, that whenever the Chairman shall have declared the result, in his opinion, of the putting of any question, any Member may have his dissent from such declaration recorded in the official proceedings of the Select Committee by raising his hand when called upon to do so by the Chairman.

(3) The Select Committee shall report back to the Dáil on the Finance Bill, 1996, not later than Tuesday, 30th April, 1996.
