Vol. 464 No. 6

Written Answers. - Film Production Grants.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

110 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the number of persons or companies who have received grants under film schemes administered by his Department; the total cost of such schemes since their introduction; the amount of funding made available for films in 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8658/96]

My Department does not administer grant schemes for film production. However, I do grant certificates under section 35 of the Finance Act, 1987, which is a tax-based investment incentive scheme, with investors obtaining tax relief on their investments from the Revenue Commissioners.
